STT (Securities Transaction Tax)
Government tax on listed security transactions.
STT is levied by the government on equity delivery (0.1% each side), intraday sell (0.025%) and options sell (0.1% of premium, plus 0.0625% on exercise). It applies identically at every broker and cannot be negotiated away.
