How to Get Your CAS Statement (NSDL, CDSL, CAMS, KFintech)

One statement with every demat holding and mutual-fund folio. Where to request it from each source, which password opens it, and how to read it into the Portfolio X-Ray.

By LetsInvest Research Desk · Updated 9 Oct 2026

A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) is the single record of your market investments: demat holdings plus mutual-fund units held in statement-of-account form, consolidated on your PAN. Monthly when you transact, half-yearly otherwise. Our Portfolio X-Ray reads a CAS PDF directly in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

1. Pick your source

  • NSDL demat holders: subscribe to e-CAS at nsdlcas.nsdl.com (or ask your DP). Duplicate statements via IDeAS on eservices.nsdl.com.
  • CDSL demat holders: download from cdslindia.com/cas/logincas.aspx with PAN + 16-digit demat number + date of birth + OTP.
  • MF-only investors (no demat): the registrars send it — request the mailback e-CAS at CAMS or KFintech (covers all AMCs they serve), or generate a Summary/Detailed CAS after logging in at MF Central.

2. Open it: the password

  • NSDL / CDSL e-CAS: your PAN in CAPITAL letters (their official FAQs state exactly this).
  • CAMS / KFintech mailback: the password you set yourself when requesting the statement.

3. Upload it to the X-Ray

On the portfolio page, choose the CAS PDF and enter the password if asked. The file is unlocked and read in your browser only — the password is cleared from memory after parsing and is never stored or sent anywhere. Only scheme names, units and values are kept; PAN, address and bank details are dropped. Statement layouts vary, so review every imported row in the editor, then link each fund to its scheme for the full report (returns, TER, risk, overlap).
