Every broker detail page on LetsInvest has a how-to-open walkthrough, but the underlying process is the same everywhere — it is regulated e-KYC, not broker magic. Typical timeline: 15 minutes of forms, account active in 1–2 working days.

Documents you need

  • PAN card (mandatory).
  • Aadhaar for e-sign / DigiLocker KYC.
  • Bank proof: cancelled cheque, statement or passbook.
  • Income proof (only for F&O activation): salary slip, ITR, or bank statement.
  • A mobile number linked to Aadhaar for OTP.

The steps

  • 1. Compare first: broker comparisons and the find-my-broker quiz — switching later is possible but annoying.
  • 2. Fill the online form: PAN → Aadhaar OTP → personal details → bank details → nominee.
  • 3. e-Sign + IPV: Aadhaar e-sign plus a selfie/video verification.
  • 4. e-Mandate / funding: link UPI or net-banking to add funds.
  • 5. Start small: run one delivery trade through our brokerage calculator so the real landed cost surprises nobody.

What to check before you sign

  • AMC after year one, and DP charges on selling.
  • Whether delivery brokerage is ₹0 or ~₹20/order.
  • Support channels — you will need them exactly once, urgently.
